Stephanie Perkins Book Signing in Manila!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO NATIONAL BOOK STORE
(namely Mr. JB & Sab!!!)
Who: The international bestselling author of Anna and the French Kiss, Stephanie Perkins!
When and where:
It's a bit surprising that the event in Manila was moved to Sunday. Since I started attending book signing events a couple of years ago, it's always set on a Saturday. I think I like the Saturday schedule more because it will give me a day to recuperate my strength before I go to work. :D
Stephanie arrived here in the Philippines by July 1 and after her rest and sleep (no doubt, jet lag too) she begins her day for media appointments!
And Jenny Han, who was here last month, replied to Steph's tweet!

Oh, before I forget, Stephanie went here with her husband, Jarrod Perkins! (They met when she was 17 years old!) He's the one standing beside Steph in the photo below.
Another Solay Daybreak photo that Steph later on tweeted about.
After the Solar Daybreak interview, she was a guest on a live radio show! Which I totally missed, and i'm really peeved about it. ;(

Here is Stephanie preparing for her live interview on Mornings ANC with her husband patiently seated.

On the set of Mornings ANC!.

Steph stumbled upon a store named Lola Babes ;D

Also read these articles!

Here is a photo of her on Manila Bulletin!
After many interviews and media events, it's finally time for her book signing in Cebu!

But first, Stephanie takes a break from all of it and finds time to relax!

You would not believe who wants to go here!!!!! MAUREEN JOHNSON!

A couple of photos of the event in Cebu!

GAH! Yes please!
AND FINALLY! THE DAY I'LL MEET STEPHANIE PERKINS! below is a photo of her while I'm waiting for my turn. ;) She looks so pretty! I love her hair and her outfit!
When it was my turn, I asked her a not-so-appropriate question. *SPOILER ALERT*
Scroll down fast now.
.
.
.
.
I know it was implied in the book but I really wanted to clarify if Cricket is really a virgin. (Because, you know, it's not everyday I encounter a hot and very virgin book boyfriend) HAHAHAHA. There, I said it. She answered my question that YES, Cricket's a virgin.  I also gave her my DIY Anna, Lola & Isla bookmarks that I hope she loves.
Anyway, look at the crowd that attended the signing!

I SHIP THEM!

For those who couldn't attend the event, here is the audio of Steph's interview in Glorietta!
P.S. I was late to arrive so I missed some of the questions. Sorry!

Sadly, I had to go home after the event and can't stay longer to just be in the presence of Stephanie Perkins. I always have sepanx when it comes to book signing events. -_- I hope she comes back! It was an amazing and wonderful experience to meet such a sweet author!
ALSO, I'll post my review for ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER soon!

Jenny Han Book Signing Event In Manila!

Woot woot! Monthly book signing events! Fun but expensive. xD

Thank you National Book Store, as always! And also to the marketing team for being accommodating and nice! (Especially Ms. Juliet, Loraine and JB). And of course, Sab!

JENNY HAN BOOK SIGNING EVENT SCHEDULE
For Manila: June 21 (Saturday) at 2pm in NBS, Glorietta 1! <--The one I'm attending.
For Cebu: June 22 (Sunday) at 2pm in NBS, SM Cebu!

I arrived in Ayala around 10AM and the registration line was already long! The end of the line was on the second floor. When we finished our registration and got our passes we couldn't find a place to sit so we decided to eat lunch first.

Below is a photo of the stage.
After we ate our lunch, we proceeded on waiting for Jenny Han to arrive. I took a picture of the interview chair while waiting.
Jenny Han was interviewed but I don't know which program or station. The interviewer was pretty young and I envied her job because she gets to chat with awesome authors. Jenny was super nice and sweet! We know she has a busy schedule so we appreciate her never-ending smile.

I recorded a video of the interview but since I'm not sure if I'm breaching any rights or not, I won't upload it. Here are the things we learned from the interview:
  • Jenny Han gets inspiration from her own childhood/teenage hood when she looks at her old diaries. Also, she gets inspiration from her life in New York and from observing people.
  • She loves writing about teens because it is exciting and a passionate time in a person's life.
"When you are young, you're experiencing things for the first time. And I think that firsts are just naturally compelling and interesting just by design." - Jenny Han

  • Of all the books she wrote, her favorite novel by far is To All The Boys I've Loved Before because it's the newest one and also, it's probably the most personal one.

"My favorite book is usually the one that I just wrote. That is usually what is closest to my heart because it just feels nearby, I guess."  -Jenny Han

  • P.S. I Still Love You will probably be out 2015 if Jenny finishes in time.
  • Her advice to Filipino fans about life and relationships is to have lots of adventures, say yes to things, to put yourself out there and be open to new experiences.
"Having an adventurous life is where to begin." - Jenny Han

When the interview was over, we went to the event place and waited for Jenny Han there. The crowd went crazy when Jenny arrived!
I recorded the interview on the event but unfortunately I had a hard time understanding what was in the audio and couldn't write a transcript. So sorry. Next time, I'll take notes instead.
Here is Jenny waving to her readers!
A couple of early birds had the chance to get an ARC copy of Ashes to Ashes and some cool stuff from Jenny! *.* And I was shocked to hear that they were at the event at 11:30 PM, the day before the event. Yikes. I don't think I can survive 15 hours of waiting. Not to mention, no comfortable place to wait for the mall to open. But I also think it's all worth it.
The book signing started as soon as the program ended and the stage was arranged.
Here is a photo of Jenny signing books!
And of course, the event wouldn't be complete without the Oscar Selfie shot!

Tahereh Mafi, Ransom Riggs & Veronica Rossi Book Signing Event in Manila!

I can never thank National Book Store enough for inviting and making this event happen. Although i must say, i would've preferred an individual event for Veronica.

There are two events for the authors:
*April 26, 2014, 2:00 pm, at the Glorietta Activity Center (Metro Manila)
*April 27, 2014, 2:00 pm, at The Gallery of Ayala Center (Cebu)

Let's recap the visit of Tahereh, Ransom and Veronica here in Metro Manila!

Veronica Rossi arrived on April 24!

After her arrival and much needed rest, she met Karen Davila, a news anchor for an interview!

Even with jetlag, she looks absolutely amazing!

Ransom and Tahereh flies to Manila on April 25 (Friday)!

Finally! Ransom and Tahereh arrives at 5am in Manila! (April 26)

You guys thought it was too early? They will probably rest and people are probably still asleep. NOOOO.

The first person who arrived was reported to be there at only 1:50am. AM. IN. THE. MORNING. or midnight. Whatevs. I can't imagine waiting that long! The event starts at 2pm!

Anyway, a fan posted a photo of the people waiting in line at 4:30am. I wish i could wake up so early or that I'm near Ayala. ;(

Ransom and Veronica replied to their dedication!

I arrived late. I know. Why?! Why would i arrive late. I want the earth to gobble me up. The answer is...I'm not a morning person.

After falling in line for about 2 hours, I finally got my signing passes!  ❤️❤️❤️ I left my Shatter Me, Unravel Me and Miss Peregrine's because it was signed already.

I met with my friend, her sister and a new found friend while waiting for the event to start.

I was #918 and you might want to see how many people is present! Last time i checked the numbers were at 1,400! WOW.

The event started late and i didn't know why. Previous signings weren't that late. Anyway, let's briefly recap the program.

It started with the introduction of the authors. The crowd was ecstatic!

There was a malfunction with the mic used. And the speakers/sound system was a bit poor. It was hard listening to what the authors were saying. I apologize for not recording the interview. Again. I was having a hard time understanding them. But i did catch that Tahereh and Ransom met through Kami Garcia.

At last, the book signing started before 4pm.

After more or less 4 hours of waiting for my turn, they finally called #900 to #920! Don't get me wrong, all the waiting gave me new friends and it was fun getting to know them.

Now back to the authors.

VERONICA ROSSI was absolutely sweet and beautiful! She would stop what she's doing just to chat with her readers! Veronica said she's enjoying her stay here very much and that she would come back again. So for those who couldn't attend the signing, you might be able to get a chance again.

Oh, and i got a hug from her. *squeek*

TAHEREH MAFI was sweet and lovely as always. I want to ask for her wedding bouquet because it was so beautiful. xD

And RANSOM RIGGS, who is freakin hot. My friends can't stop talking about him. LOL. He was super nice and perf.

Sadly, i had to leave the stage. Why do I always have separation anxiety whenever I attend a signing? What I would give to chat with them for a whole day.

But before anything else, i would like to thank my mom for giving me the necessary fund to buy books. :D And to Ms. Loraine for being so nice!

Over all, it was super fun! It was amazing really.

Indeed it was.

Book Events & News: Becca Fitzpatrick's Book Signing in Manila!

Thanks to National Book Store, we get to meet the New York Times bestselling author behind the Hush, Hush Saga, Becca Fitzpatrick! The book store arranged two events in the Philippines so that bookworms in the Visayas can also meet her. One in Metro Manila and one in Cebu!

Let’s recap the visit of Becca here in the metro.

Day 1: Becca arrived in the Philippines from Hong Kong on March 26, 2014.

Here is a wacky photo of her with @itsjbroperos at Raffles, Makati!
(source: x)

Day 2 (March 27, 2014): She's having a very busy day with interviews and appointments! And I hope she's coping well with jet lag! ;D

Another photo from Mr. Roperos!
(source: x)

Day 3 (March 29, 2014): Book signing at NBS, Glorietta 1 (4pm)!

Look at the line at 8AM! All of them waiting for Becca!

(source: X)

Now let's proceed on my point of view of the event! ;)

Becca did a quick interview before she met us.

Sadly, we weren't able to attend the Bloggers Forum so it was a huge relief to meet Becca Fitzpatrick before the event starts. (Thanks to Sab! Also, Ma'am Gaco!

She even made time to sign our books! While she was signing our books, we were able to chat with her about the saga. I asked her if she was planning on writing a novella for the Hush, Hush Saga and she said she have plans! Becca wants to write in Patch's POV but she confirmed it'll only be a novella and NOT a whole book. But it's still awesome to be able to read in Patch's perspective!
I might have also suggested a novella about someone and someone's *cough* hot scenes *cough*. Something happened with Patch and Nora in the 3-year gap in Finale and i wanna know. Yeah, a bit naughty of me. ;D

(**UPDATE: I apologize if there were some misunderstanding. Becca wants to write novellas but not anytime soon.)

She even suggested if we want to take a photo with her!
(won't post the photos for anonymity ;D)

Look what she wrote! *FAINTS*

After signing our books, she made a little video for her Filipino fans!

We made our way to the event and waited for Becca there. We can't find a good spot with so many attendees! It was amazing how many boys and girls are present!

I'm apologizing for not recording the Q&A of Becca because i was still in that zone after meeting her. HA! She arrived and the crowd was cheering!

I should point out the hot fallen angel on the white screen! xD

(**UPDATE: Deleted because of misinformation.)

Another interview for ABS-CBN before she resumes signing books! Did i mention we were also interviewed by them? It will air on ABS-CBN Lifestyle Channel next week. (We'll update you when we get a text message on the exact date.)

And the book signing begins! (im not the one on the pic)

She even tweeted her thanks to her Filipino fans!

I hope you enjoyed meeting Becca as much as we did! We couldn't have asked for more! She was lovely on the inside and out!
