 I was so excited to start reading..

at the same time scared of the final book for this series. Especially how it ended in The Forgotten Mountain.

 So I started, and I was so not prepared for the feels.

Heather, you did it again and again. You spun us into your web until we are trapped and helplessly lost in The Lost Codex. 

I was teary-eyed while reading. I missed all the characters and reading about their journey in this book was a bittersweet reunion. So many has changed yet the resilience was there, barely, but striving to grow. 

The first parts were all sweet and blissful but that ended quickly. And I'm just so pissed at Piper , the13th Wise Woman and every villain in this series. The tone was mainly dark with all the heartaches. The villains were so good that you fear for the characters you've come to love. But knowing Alice, you wouldn't lose hope but darn it coz they are being challenged one after the other. One by one the Society is crumbling and they have so little to do anything about it. 

Alice is still my favorite character. She is one tough cookie and we'll be seeing more of it here. Grymsdyke is also a favorite character. I would love to have him as a bodyguard. 

There has been alternating POVs from the previous novels and we'll see more of it here. Alice and Finn alternates, which gave us visibility on the state of one another, the after effects of recent events. 

I've loved the story and characters from the moment I started The Collector's Society and I'll say it again; Heather Lyons is one great storyteller and I can't wait for more. This was one hell of a fall from the rabbit hole and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'll surely miss the gang.

To put it simply, The cover intrigued me. Then, the synopsis won me over to reading it. The very first chapter hooked me and by the middle of the book, I fell in love.
And seriously, where can I get my very own Mr. Universe??

Characters Olivia Montano and Nick Montgomery were dealt with quite bad cards by fate. One learned how to deal while the other learned how to just go through the motions. When their paths crossed, would their destinies align or would fate deal them another rough one?

If there is one thing I felt throughout the book, it is love. Guh, I sound like an emotional sap but hey, a good book does bring that out of me. One thing that I liked about this book are the characters. They're flawed, they make rash decisions, they hurt, they hope, they love. It was never a "Bam! One moment we're not, another, we're now together" kind of story. The characters came to grow, with each other and by themselves. They learned a lot together and even when they're apart. The story gave quite a feel of believing destiny, when to let go and when to fight for what you care about. But totally sold me are the letters by Mr. Universe himself such as the one found in the synopsis. To me, it felt like I was reading one made by my Mr. Universe, wherever he may be. Those letters were a source of strength for Olivia, and can be one to the reader as well.

I am willing to pay the exorbitant tax fees in our country just to get a copy!

Maria La Serra, a fashion designer, turned writer, lives in Montreal with her husband and two children. She will try everything at least once, except for skiing, hiking or camping-okay anything relating to activities done in the great outdoors. The Proverbial Mr. Universe is her first novel.

Simply put, this book has everything. It's definitely one that would keep you on the edge of your seat or hanging by the edge of your bed just to keep reading on. But what truly struck me out of it all is Sarina. Even though she has been kept in the laboratory for so long, she is still in every way, human. She learned how to adapt outside, to trust people even when all her life, she was treated as a mere test subject, or so it seemed to her.

Sarina, Sweetheart brings life to more than just the suspense, the action and the threats to Sarina's life. The book showed that there would always be something that makes a person to keep on moving despite the circumstances: hope.

Megan Carney is an author, geek and amateur photographer living in the Twin Cities. She has ten years of experience in the field of computer security. Her previous short story publications include: ‘Flighty Youth’ in the Raritan, ‘Modern Mayhem’ in the Wayfarer, ‘Swing By Close’ in the Wayfarer, ‘Directions’ in the Bell Tower. ‘Swing By Close’ and ‘Directions’ both won first prize in the fiction sections of that issue.
