Twenty-one-year-old Emma Matthews lost the song in her heart the same night she lost her dad. With an unfulfilled promise and an ultimatum shadowing her junior year of college, maybe it’s better that way. You can’t hurt if you can’t feel.
But when the reflection she sees in musician Riley Preston’s eyes borders dangerously close to the one she’s spent the last five years searching for, Emma discovers her walls can’t guard her heart from its fiercest desire. Terrified of what she’s experiencing, and even more afraid of what she might lose, Emma grapples for the courage to hold on to one dream without abandoning the promise of another.
Contemporary New Adult Romance novel Eyes Unveiled lets you relive those heartfelt moments when you don’t know how you’d survive a day without your best friend, when you’re trying to figure out who you are and what you’re supposed to do with your life, and when falling in love changes everything.
Music. Friendship. Self-discovery. Hope. Purpose. Identity. Within this inspirational love story, you’ll find you have a song of your own to share.

Riley and I stopped halfway across the footbridge leading to the other side of campus. “My dad used to tell me life’s a lot like being an artist. It has less to do with mastering technique or theory, and everything to do with risking the cost of opening your heart to the song you’re meant to share.” Amazing how he’d made that so easy to believe.
Riley set his arms next to mine on the rail. “He sounds like a wise guy.”
“He was.” The wooden plank scratched into my palms, the sense of loss cutting deeper. “A natural dreamer too. You would’ve liked him. You share a similar passion. I can tell. You’re probably connecting with more people than you realize. There’s something about music. Even if you’re not aware of what you’re missing, you walk away after hearing it, knowing—”
“You can’t live without it.”
“Exactly.” I turned and met a gaze locked on mine, as if he hadn’t looked away the entire time I was talking. He held that same expression from the first day I saw him—torn between surprise and fear of finding something he’d lost.
“The way you understand things, it’s . . . refreshing,” he said.
The sincerity teeming in his eyes turned my throat dry. The bridge’s hazy blue lights lit up an exit route.
On the other side of the bridge, we stopped along the edge of the empty sports field. I slid out of my flip-flops and sank my heels into the cool earth. “When I was a kid, I practically lived in my backyard.” Blades of grass wove through my toes with each step toward the center of the field. “Do you mind if we sit for a while?” I spun around.
Riley stood back on the sidewalk, staring with enough enamor to be admiring an intricate painting.
I peered behind me and back again. “What?”
Glimpses of a hidden expression followed him toward me. “Sorry. The beauty of artistry still catches me by surprise sometimes.”

What inspired you to write Eyes Unveiled?
When I first contemplated writing fiction, three musts came to mind. (1) It had to include romance because that’s my favorite part of any story. (2) I wanted whatever I wrote to be relatable. (3) I didn’t want to write simply for the sake of entertainment.

As soon as I opened myself up to daydream, a scene fluttered into focus. A guy and girl, college age, sitting in the middle of a secluded field. The guy was playing an acoustic guitar, as much in love with music as he obviously was with the girl across from him. Every chord stoked her love for him the same way it fanned the craving in her heart to find where she belonged. Both fighting what they felt. Both wanting to make the other see what they saw. Physical and emotional tension flared in a palpable tug-of-war between hope and doubt, caution and desire, passion and responsibilities. And right then, I knew these characters had a story to tell—one I wanted to read as much as write. From there, I couldn’t stop the scenes from coming.

What made you choose New Adult?
I didn’t intentionally set out to write NA fiction. But the truth is, college was the best season of my life. I’d relive it in a second. There's something special about it. Sharing an extended sleepover with your best friends, stepping out on your own for the first time, discovering things like who you are & what friendship really looks like. It's when we fell in love like never before, and when we fell apart like never before. It shaped our lives. One of my favorite parts about Eyes Unveiled is that you get to relive those moments all over again. The laugh-until-you-snort moments. The heart-flutters-taking-flight moments. The on-the-floor-crying-your-heart-out moments. All of it. Doubt. Faith. Friendship. Love. NA is a dynamic genre to read and write.

What made you decide to go indie?
I started off on the traditional route, but the more I studied publishing, the more passionate I became about going indie. Along with the benefit of keeping the rights to my book, it’s a joy to partner with some amazingly talented contractors. I love getting to offer my books at a low price and still receive a fair royalty, so readers and I both win. And since traditional and self-published authors have to do the same amount of marketing on their own anyway, you might as well be compensated fairly for the investment. Overall, it simply made the most sense.

Why do you write what you do?
In a word? Passion. As an artist, I leave my heart on the page. Exposed. Vulnerable. Nothing withheld. It’s risky to bear your soul to the world, but that’s the cost of art. There might always be a part of me tempted to guard my heart. But there’s a much more compelling part that’ll never allow me to. Regardless of the outcome, I write what I do because my heart is spoken for.

What do you want readers to take away from your books?
My goal as an author has always been to craft novels that are relevant and encouraging. I love compelling fiction that draws you into characters’ lives to the point of feeling what they feel. The kind that you walk away from knowing the story just impacted your life. Beyond mere entertainment, they awaken dormant dreams, stir creative visions, and remind you that you have a story of your own to live. If you walk away with an emotional connection that touches and inspires you, then I know I’ve written the kind of story I’ve always wanted to.

Everybody knows about the Cooper Killings.

There was only one survivor – fifteen year-old Nic Preston.

Now eighteen, Nic is trying hard to rebuild her life. But then one night her high-security apartment is broken into. It seems the killers are back to finish the job.

Finn Carter – hacker, rule breaker, player – is the last person Nic ever wants to see again. He’s the reason her mother’s murderers walked free. But as the people hunting her close in, Nic has to accept that her best chance of staying alive is by staying close to Finn.

And the closer they get to the truth, and to each other, the greater the danger becomes.
“In his arms I’ve finally found the place I’ve been looking for, where fear can’t touch me, where memories can’t reach, where the past is forgotten and the present is enough. Where the present is, in fact, all that matters.”

Nic Preston is haunted everyday by what happened in LA. More specifically, the lone survivor is still haunted by the Cooper Killings. Now, after two years, she tries to live by. With an OCD for security checks and a bulldog named Goz to keep her company, she must learn how to survive, yet, another hurdle bent on destroying her carefully built up life. Will she survive another one? Will she want to?

While Finn, a hot and not-so-nerdy hacker and also the reason why the caught fugitives tied to the Cooper Killings walked free, will have to help Nic and keep her alive. He has an urge to help the helpless and fight crime but is the reason for helping Nic just that? Has he learned his lesson with Eleanor Ricci?

It was one nail-biting chapter after the other. It’s better to be paranoid than sorry, right? I certainly can’t blame Nic. You’ll never be too cautious about safety. And it was hilarious even with murderers after them. Even in the dramatic moments, there are witty lines present.

Join Nic and Finn fight for their lives – and also their undeniable chemistry – in this romance, mystery & suspense novel. Would they be able to protect each other and their hearts?

Humor, romance and thrill? Sarah Alderson does it well.

Tempting, inked and highly addictive. Alex is all that and more…

I’ve made a lot of mistakes – ones I’m not proud of, and definitely ones that have left their marks both mentally and physically.

Things got lonely; I got lost in my own fucked up mind and in the end it left me fucked out of my mind and unable to fight – or at least win. That life’s over for me and I’ve moved on.

Six months into tattooing at Blue’s and already I’m the most wanted and sought out tattooist. My biggest clientele consists of women.

They come into the shop, end up in my bed and we both come out happy. It’s been my release since I’ve stopped fighting. It’s become part of the “new” me.

But when Tripp reappears in my life, I can’t deny the fact that I would do anything for that girl.

So when she asks me to move in with her and her ‘boyfriend’ – our other childhood friend – I never expected for things to get so fucked up and twisted that I would find myself only more attracted to her by each passing second or wanting to protect her from everything that isn’t me.

I have worked so hard over the years to suppress my feelings for her but when I find out that her and Lucas have been having an open relationship, I have the strong urge to rip his heart straight from his chest – to destroy the very thing that keeps him breathing.

What I didn’t expect was for Lucas to ask what he did. For him to ask me to do the one thing I have secretly longed for since I was old enough to know what the need was. The second thing I never expected was the look of need that I saw in Tripp’s eyes when he asked.

One night of free passion could change our lives forever.

I never said that was a good thing either…

He looks at me, smiles and then walks past me and into the room. “Hell yes,” he groans. “It’s fucking hard now, Tripp.”
I feel my stomach flutter and my heart rate pick up from his choice of words. I can’t tell if it’s because I am happy that he’s going to agree on moving in or because the thought of him hard makes me want to jump on him and take him for a ride. He’s my best friend. I shouldn’t even be questioning myself but I can’t help it.
“Umm . . . good, I guess,” I say in response as I step up beside him in front of the water.
When I look down at his hand, I notice him adjusting the crotch of his jeans. I give him a shove and he looks over at me with a grin. “Damn, Tripp. Are you trying to make me wrestle you? You know it’s been a while but you’ve been pretty damn pushy today. I still have the skills to take you down.”
I can’t help but to laugh. “I pushed you because you were playing with your dick. Are you seriously hard right now?”
He pulls his hand away from his jeans and sure enough I see a huge bulge. I can tell it’s not fully hard, but damn! “Well what the hell do you expect when you call this the sex pool? Am I not supposed to get aroused at the thought of fucking someone in here?” I pull my eyes away from his crotch and punch his arm. “Oh come on, Tripp. Don’t be ashamed to look. We’ve known each other our whole lives. You don’t think I have sneaked peeks at your body from time to time. You know you’ve imagined how big it is before. I’ll let you have a peek if want. What’s mine is yours,” he says huskily.
He bites his bottom lip and reaches for his belt as he steps closer to me in a teasing way. The thought of his erection being so close to me gets me so nervous that I reach out with both hands and push him into the pool. My hands instantly go up to cover my mouth as he falls in with a huge splash.
I burst out in laughter as he quickly resurfaces the water and jumps out of the pool while wiping his face off. His shirt is clinging to his muscular body and water is dripping down his face and lips. It’s the most glorious site I have ever seen. Just when I think he’s about to yell at me, he yanks his shirt over his head and reaches into his pocket to toss his phone aside. He grins and closes the distance between.
“You’re getting it now.” I take in a deep breath as his, cold firm chest presses against my breasts. “You ready for me to get you wet, Tripp? I’ve been waiting for this for a long, long time.”
He’s too quick for me to even attempt to make an escape. He picks me up, wraps my legs around his waist and walks over the edge of the pool. I instantly take notice of his partial boner pressing firmly against my clit which only makes me wish we were naked.
We sink to the bottom with his hands gripping into my bare thighs while he holds me close. As soon as his feet hit the ground, he pushes up with his muscular legs and we both swim back up to the top.
I fight to catch my breath while pushing water from out of my face. “Dammit, Alex!”
I hear him laughing behind me so I turn around to yell at him, but he’s too quick and is already back behind me again. “What’s the matter? You didn’t expect me to get you so wet?”
I lean my head back and bite my lip in frustration. Him and this damn teasing. He’s really getting a kick out of this. “You’re lucky I love you so much,” I bite out.
I feel his body press up behind me before he wraps his arm around me and starts pulling me back to the edge of the pool. Once there, he picks me up and gives my ass a boost until I am on my knees, catching my breath on the smooth, wet ground. My body gets heated from the skin to skin contact and feeling his finger so close to being able to slip inside me. It’s the closest it’s been before and it steals my breath away. I chose to wear a thong today so not only did my dress ride up, but I’m sure he just got a full on view of my ass in his face.
I quickly get back to my feet and turn around to face him, now embarrassed. He’s just standing there staring up at me, his eyes unreadable. “Aren’t you getting out?”
His eyes quickly scan over my breasts before moving down to my exposed thighs and staying there. “Yeah. I’m coming.” He smiles and I give him the middle finger. “No, I didn’t mean it like that.” He laughs while pulling himself halfway out of the pool. “You have such a dirty mind,” he says in a serious tone. “I’m not sure I can handle living with someone with such filthy thoughts. You just might corrupt me.”

Lily has been miserable for years now. Her husband isn’t around much and she prefers it that way. After years of looking the other way with her husband’s shady dealings and numerous concubines, she must now face all the things she tries to be oblivious to when she’s called by the police.

When she learned that Ash is dead, she doesn’t know what to feel. Maybe it was relief. But the relief is short-lived as the FBI lets her know of the mess her dead husband has put her in. Ash was indebted to very bad people and someone else has to pay. The FBI thinks they’ll retaliate with Lily.

To keep her safe, they threw her under their protection until the chaos settles down. In the middle of all these, she meets Gavin, who is the husband of the “It Girl” in Hollywood. Brooke is also the other dead driver who collided with the speeding car of Ash.

Escaping both her dead husband’s enemies and the paparazzi, she must try to survive and be strong to build another life for her. But would she be able to pick the pieces up? Would she be able to stay away from the ever charming Gavin?

As if we can resist someone like Gavin when they want to be part of our life. Not only is his British accent very seductive but he’s understanding, sweet and loyal.

The only thing I didn’t like when finishing WFC is that I have to wait for When Fate Isn’t Enough and Book 3! I was starting to get worried on how it will end, especially at the middle of this novel. After ensuring that Lily’s life wasn’t in danger anymore – or so they think -, they must now try and keep a long distance relationship. Throw in, tabloid headlines that will rock their happy boat. They seem to have a very rocky road ahead of them. I love that when they are both pissed, someone will always try to pacify the other. They have an understanding that we wish to have with someone. (Don’t mind me xD)

The story was kept at a dangling place with the suspense of what will happen with the problems that was left behind by their ex-spouses. Notwithstanding, there’s also the paparazzi frenzy surrounding Gavin and Lily. Pretty much loved this novel and scared about 2 and 3!

When Fates Collide tackles about how bewildering love blooms, how cupid can suddenly strikes and that you can’t control fate. It is a story of sexy devotion, never-ending love and thrilling circumstances in unexpected places.

Isabelle Richards spent years as a speech writer before tackling fiction. An avid reader of all genres, Isabelle is drawn to romance novels as they provide an escape from daily life.  Through her complex cast of characters, Isabelle creates a sanctuary for readers to dive into for a break from reality.

When she is not writing, Isabelle works as an advocate for persons with disabilities in Washington, DC. Her two yellow labs are her writing partners, although they frequently sleep on the job.

Excerpt:
She took in his suspenders and straw hat on the humid summer morning. His gray eyes and shaven face were a pleasant surprise. Most hipsters around campus wore a beard, or at least an ironic mustache. She liked seeing his jaw, he looked strong. A different kind of strong than most of the college students she met.
"My name's Abel,” he said, sticking out his hand politely. She shook it, his hand calloused and rough.
"Abel. Like, Cain and Abel?”
He nodded.
“Are your parents Bible thumpers or something?"
He smiled, one of those wide smiles that aren’t self-conscious or self-aware. A smile offered freely and easily accepted.
“Sort of,” he said, not seeming to take offense to her intrusive question. “They're Amish."
Marigold tilted her head to the side and he matched her movements, as she realized the broad fell pants and black boots were not about being urban-chic.
"And you?" she asked.
"I'm a guy." He didn’t offer more of an explanation, and Marigold understood that. The pause. The purpose of holding back. She was here at this cafĂ©, trying to muster up the courage to apply for a job, after all.
"What's your name?" Abel said breaking the un-awkward silence, as if he could sense it heading in that direction.
"Marigold," she answered.
"Were your parents hippies or something?"
That made her laugh. She knew asking about his parents’ spiritual beliefs had been rude, and she liked that he didn’t let her off the hook.
"Sort of. My parents are writers,” she explained.
"I see. And you?"

That's when Marigold looked up at him plainly, deciding if she should say anything more than the obvious, that she was a girl.
