Synopsis book 1 - Escapement:
Ten years after the great war of 2185 the queen’s reign is threatened by uprisings and fear. In celebration of my sixteenth birthday it is my duty as princess to sacrifice a slave to be initiated into the ruling council, solidifying my mother’s empire. When my own erratic powers surface I’m captured and tried for treason. Slaves hate me, my mother wants me executed, and my only chance of survival rests in the hands of a young man, Ryder Arteres, whose sister I sentenced to death.
Synopsis book 2 - Pendulum:
Haunting memories.
Terrifying dreams.
Crippling lies.

Trapped in a world of deception, my sanity rests with the love of Ryder Arteres and our renegade friends. Six months of scouring the ocean floor in a rebel ship fleeing our homeland, delivers us to a possible alliance with the opportunistic European Council. Our only hope is to utilize our forbidden gifts to free our people from slavery, proving our worth. But when a trusted ally turns traitor and a new breed of the queen’s weaponry is revealed, I’m forced to face the terror of my past to save our crumbling future.
Synopsis book 3 - Balance:
Life on a war-ravaged Earth is a dying experience. Finally, after years of tyranny, the rebellion rises. Once I rescue my fiancĂ© Ryder Arteres, I, and the rebel general, will fight to free our people. In a war where alliances shift and friends betray one another, will the final battle prove the truth of the prophecy the queen has so feared—her death—or will I lose everyone I love?
On Book One:
Semara was a princess whose mother makes the wicked stepmother of Snow White seem tame. Her mother has a few screws loose and she doesn't care whether Semara's her daughter; she just cares about securing the throne to her line.

Semara had no choice. She had to concede to her mother's wishes for she does not know a family anymore. Until she was forced to prove herself worthy of the throne by killing a parasite, a supposed vermin to the society. Semara realized that she can't do it. She can't do it because the person she'd kill is the best friend she's made five or six years ago. Raeth.

Their travels and missions amaze me as the author has done a really good job in creating the world that they live in. Not only that, the powers of the characters in the story made my eyes go huge as I'm really reminded of X-Men (and their wicked powers).

The only thing that fell short for me is the interaction between Semara and Ryder. Some scenes were really awkward because I felt like they shouldn't happen at that moment in time. At all. Another thing that had me snickering is the line having the same context as the one below (based on what I recall):

"...and everything fades. I can no longer hear or see the battle happening. I can only feel his lips. I can only feel him."

Save for the awkward cheesy scenes appearing at a really awkward time, Escapement is a really good book that deserves to be out of your TBR pile and should be in your hands, devoured page by page.

“You can lean on me,” Jackson says.
“I—”
“Lean on me.” Not an offer this time, an order.
I scoot over and lean my weight against his arm.
“Not like that.” He shifts both of us around until my back’s against one side of his chest, my head lolling sideways onto his shoulder, our legs stretched out in front of us, side by side. Not perfect on the comfort score, but better than it was a minute ago. He rests his chin lightly on the top of my head and tells me, “Sleep.”
“What about you?”
“I’ll keep watch. I’ve been doing this long enough that I don’t need rest while we’re on a mission.”
“What about Luka and Tyrone?”
“They won’t need to rest, either. You’re still getting used to the jumps. By the next mission or the one after that, you’ll be like us. A robo-soldier.” And there it is again, that thread of humor, like he’s laughing at himself.
“Is that supposed to reassure me? ’Cause I gotta tell ya, thinking about upcoming missions doesn’t exactly thrill me.”
I jump when his hands settle on my shoulders. Then I sigh as he kneads my muscles. Long fingers. Strong hands. Some of my tension slips away.

Kalliope lives with one purpose. To inspire. As an immortal muse, she doesn’t have any other choice. It’s part of how she was made. Musicians, artists, actors—they use her to advance their art, and she uses them to survive. She moves from one artist to the next, never staying long enough to get attached. But all she wants is a different life— a normal one. She’s spent thousands of years living lie after lie, and now she’s ready for something real. Sweet, sexy, and steady, Wilder Bell feels more real than anything else in her long existence. And most importantly… he’s not an artist. He doesn’t want her for her ability. But she can’t turn off the way she influences people, not even to save a man she might love. Because in small doses, she can help make something beautiful, but her ability has just as much capacity to destroy as it does to create. The longer she stays, the more obsessed Wilder will become. It’s happened before, and it never turns out well for the mortal. Her presence may inspire genius. But it breeds madness, too.
HeadshotCora Carmack is a twenty-something writer who likes to write about twenty-something characters. And—a Happily-Ever-After Ending (Just not the way you expected it!)
Lucy Trabbicio’s a down-on-her-luck, young, American, former biker-bar cocktail waitress desperate to find a job. Lady Elizabeth Billingsley hires Lucy to travel to Fredonia, the tiny jewel of a country in the Alps, for ten days ‘tops’ to impersonate her.
Say what? How the heck is that going to happen?
In the mother of all makeovers, Elizabeth’s people teach Lucy how to dress, walk, talk, eat, be coiffed and even get naked like a European Lady.
The goal?
To keep Crown Prince Cristoph Timmel interested in Elizabeth until she finishes her unexpected, pressing personal business in the States.
But fate intervenes… Lucy meets and is wildly attracted to sexy, bad-boy Nick on the oh-so-long flights to Fredonia. Unfortunately for Lucy—Nick and Elizabeth have a hot sexual history, which Nick wants to immediately resume.
Prince Cristoph proposes marriage. What’s an imposter girl to do? Elizabeth insists that she’ll make it back home in time for the wedding. Lucy accepts Cristoph’s proposal and is on the fast track to becoming a Princess but continues to fall for the wrong Prince of Fredonia—Nick. When another tiny glitch arises—someone’s trying to kill her.
The only folks helping Lucy are her wild, party hard, take-no-prisoners Ladies-in-Waiting.
When the real Lady Elizabeth decides she’s not marrying Cristoph and never returning to Fredonia, Lucy’s faced with an uncomfortable decision—continue her deception, marry the prince she’s not in love with and live a dream life albeit without Nick, her dream guy? Or tell the truth and return to poverty and oblivion?
A modern day sexy fairy tale with romance, twists and turns, LOL moments, a few tears and an empowering ending.

The story starts when Lucy, a young hard-working American (perfectly ordinary), was fired from her job and was luckily employed by Elizabeth, who is coincidentally a real-life Princess. Lucy will have to be Elizabeth for 10 days. But then, days became weeks and weeks became months. What will happen next? Especially if Lucy learns that Elizabeth’s not returning to Fredonia. She will have to pick between two gorgeous Princes. I know right? What an unfortunate situation she’s in. Not. But I must agree that she needs to make a hard decision.

The only thing I disliked about this was the impersonation thing. It’s a bit tacky that Lucy and Elizabeth look so much alike (without any surgery and stuff) that Lucy was never suspected to be an impostor.

I absolutely adored Lucy Trabbicio. She didn’t automatically think of Nick’s physical appearance when they first met. She doesn’t judge a person by their looks. When she saw a gorgeous guy, she didn’t describe him as such. She described him as a pervert riding first class in British Airways. She was also hilarious. Her character flawlessly executed quirky scenes. It had me laughing at the right time. Also, there’s an invisible relationship between Lucy and Elizabeth. They were helping each other without really intending to.

The love triangle in this story has a historical/regency romance feel to it. She was promised to another man but fell in love with the other. The romance was just right. So right that it was difficult to pick between Nick and Cristoph. Good thing Lucy picked for us. Ha!

A modern day sexy fairy tale with romance  ,twists and turns, LOL moments, a few tears and an empowering ending. It sure is!

Readers of swoon romance, romantic comedy and modern day fairytale will surely love the first installment of the Ladies In Waiting series! Part-Time Princess is a perfect combination of Pamela’s take to Princess Diaries and Princess and The Pauper.
Can't wait for book two!

Pamela DuMond is the author who discovered Erin Brockovich’s life story, thought it would make a great movie and pitched it to ‘Hollywood’.

She writes romantic comedic mysteries, romantic YA time travel and New Adult romance.
